Ben Harper to Tour in Late Summer
Fri, 13 May 2011 12:28:03
Ben Harper will tour this Summer through early Fall. The run will kick off on August 25th at The Warfield in San Francisco, CA and include a show at Terminal 5 in New York City (October 1st) and a two-night stand at Washington, DC's 9:30 Club (October 4th and 5th.)
Harper will celebrate the May 17th release of his new album, Give Till It's Gone, next week with a series of national television appearances. He'll perform the collection's first single, "Rock N' Roll Is Free," on Late Show with David Letterman on May 18th and follow the taping with a live multi-platform concert at New York's Ed Sullivan Theater. The event is part of CBS Interactive Music Group's leading concert webcast series, LIVE ON LETTERMAN, presented by AT&T. The concert will be webcast live and on-demand through CBS Properties and VEVO. For additional details, please visit here.
Harper will also appear on The Early Show (May 19th), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (May 24th) and Conan (May 25th.) Harper's interview with NPR's "Weekend Edition Sunday" host Liane Hanson will air this Sunday, May 15th.
Give Till It's Gone is Harper's first solo record since 2006's Both Sides of the Gun. He recorded most of the album at the Los Angeles studio of Jackson Browne, who harmonizes with him on the wistful "Pray That Our Love Sees The Dawn." The album also features two tracks written and performed with Ringo Starr - the psychedelic-tinged "Spilling Faith" and the improvisational "Get There From Here." The video for "Rock N' Roll Is Free," which was directed by Liam Harrison, recently premiered on Amazon.com. Fans can check out the animated clip by going here.
