Bette Midler Considers Removing Shoes From Cher From Costume Auction
Thu, 27 Oct 2011 11:59:19
Bette Midler is auctioning off stage costumes, clothes and shoes from her glorious and illustrious career, and she is considering removing a pair of unwearable platforms that were a gift from fellow diva Cher. Sentimental value, you know?
The auction will benefit the New York Restoration Project.
Midler may remove the heels because her 17-year-old daughter Sophie is attached to them...sort of.
Midler told the Today show that "Cher gave me these shoes in the early '70s when these kind of platform shoes were all the rage… You cannot walk or take a step in them. My daughter is so mad about them, when she heard I was going to sell them, she got, like, panic-stricken. So I may remove them." Okay, take 'em out. Make Sophie happy. Auction off the rest. We don't fault you, Bette!
The auction is set for Nov. 11 in Beverly Hills.
Would you bid on some of Midler's stage costumes?
