In response to a lawsuit brought by British R&B singer Des'ree, Beyoncé is pulling her B'Day Deluxe Edition from shelves due to copyright infringement. Des'ree's "Still in Love (Kissing You)" was included on the re-release without consent.
"It was one of my all-time favorite songs," Beyoncé told MTV News. "It gives you this emotion—I don't care who you are, you just feel it. So I just did it for myself—a lot of songs, I do like that—and I let people hear it and they were like, 'You are crazy, you have to put it on the album.' So I did. It was a last-minute decision."
Des'ree's legal team officially filed a suit on April 16th and is seeking $150,000 in damages and an injuction to recall the record. The preliminary injuction hearing takes place on May 4th.
