Beyoncé has slapped upside her beautiful head with a $100 million lawsuit, after the singer reportedly bailed out on creating a "motion-sensing dance video" titled "Starpower: Beyoncé." The suit alleges that the singer 86ed the company's business and caused them to lay off 70 people the week before the holiday season! Yikes!
Billboard reports that software developer Gate Five LLC filed a claim against Beyoncé and her company, Beyoncé, Inc. Gate Five even refers to Beyonce as "Ms. Carter" in legal documents, since she is married to Jay-Z. whose real name is Shawn Carter! The gaming company is saying Beyoncé is accountable for "a bad faith breach of contract so callous that, on what appeared to be a whim, she destroyed Gate Five's business and drove 70 people into unemployment, the week before Christmas." Bah humbug.
According to the claim, Beyoncé "had already negotiated lavish compensation terms" with Gate Five to develop the "Starpower: Beyoncé" video game, but then suddenly "made an extortionate demand for entirely new compensation terms." When the deal subsequently fell through, the singer allegedly "drove away the financier (who found Ms. Carter too erratic to do business with) and then pulled out of the project, breaching the agreement."
What do you think of this suit? Is it Beyoncé's fault?
