Beyoncé Opens Up About Miscarriage

Beyoncé was pregnant before she gave birth to firstborn Blue Ivy in 2012. She had a miscarriage, which Jay-Z alluded to in a song he released after Blue's birth. Bey talks about the miscarriage in her HBO doc which airs this month, on February 13.
"About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time," Bey said. "And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life."
She was ready to be a mom, saying, "I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like…I was feeling very maternal."
But it wasn't meant to be.
"I flew back to New York to get my check up -- and no heartbeat," she confesses. "Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat."
She managed to deal with the pain through music, saying, "I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I've ever written in my life," she said, not sharing which track this loss inspired. "And it was actually the first song I wrote for my album. And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I've ever been through."
At least music helped heal her.
What is your favorite Beyoncé song? Will you watch her Super Bowl halftime performance this weekend?
