    Biffy Clyro released their new album, Ellipsis, July 8th. This release is rawer, more of a "punch to the nose," says bassist James Johnston. After six albums, the Scottish three-piece wanted to break out of their mold, and so reached out to producer Rich Costey who has worked with such diverse artists as Fiona Apple, Muse, and Death Cab For Cutie.

    Biffy Clyro has always been a pack of outsiders, the rock 'n' roll Scottsmen of London, and as a band want their audiences to know that they'll stick together through anything. Ellipsis finds the trio sounding like "wolves," always working together, but not afraid to snap at anyone who attacks them.

    ARTISTdirect's Christopher Friedmann caught up with James Johnston to discuss Ellipsis, the current UK environment post Brexit, and what it's like feeling like an outsider in the London music scene:
