Breakthrough UK band Biffy Clyro will embark on their first US headlining tour, kicking off in Allston, MA on September 13. Their latest album, Only Revolutions, has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize, which is a highly touted UK award and a major wow for a UK band! Prior shortlist nominees for the prestigious UK award include Florence and the Machine, Radiohead and Franz Ferdinand, so Biffy Clyro are in rather impressive company with their nomination. Only Revolutions will be released in the US on September 21, and while the Scottish band is beloved and massive in their native UK, but they've yet to break in the US. They play a Foo Fighters'ian brand of melodic rock, so be sure and check them out as the band is certainly worth your while.

Only Revolutions is Biffy Clyro's fifth album and it follows up their 2007 release Puzzle. The first single from Only Revolutions is "Bubbles" and it features Queens of the Stone Age vocalist/guitarist Josh Homme.

The Scottish trio formed in 1995 and quickly began honing their unique sound, a mind-boggling mix of off-kilter tempos, itchy, unpredictable guitars, soulful choruses and feral screams. Years of relentless touring built a dedicated army of followers and turned Biffy Clyro into one of the most celebrated live bands in the UK– they've shared the stage with Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Linkin Park, opened a colossal Wembley Stadium show with Muse and became the first band ever to play in the Houses of Parliament. They've begun to win over US fans as well, on recent tours with Queens of the Stone Age, Editors, and Manchester Orchestra. With all those homegrown accolades, it is time for the US to catch up to Biffy Clyro. What are we waiting for?
