Asking Alexandria are ready to smash through some boundaries (and many venues) with the upcoming Break Down The Walls tour.

They'll be tearing up theaters across the United States this Spring with August Burns Red, We Came as Romans, Crown the Empire, and Born of Osiris in tow, and it's the perfect metal bill. However, we were curious about what records really shaped Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce.

So, in this exclusive feature, ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino speaks to Asking Alexandria axeman Ben Bruce about three of the most seminal albums in his collection.

    Big 3 Records

    Metallica — Kill 'Em All

I've been listening to a lot of Kill 'Em All lately. I was obsessed with it as a kid. I keep going to this and Guns N' Roses Appetite For Destruction. I love how fucking raw they were and how aggressive they were for the time they came out. Honestly, that's hugely inspirational to me not only with From Death to Destiny but with the new material I've been writing as well. Kill 'Em All is so good. I can't say it's their best album because I love most of their earlier records, but it's definitely up there. I probably listen to that record more than any other album Metallica has put out. Albeit their first album, it's very underrated. When people think of Metallica, they often think of The Black Album or Master of Puppets, but I honestly think Kill 'Em All is one of the best.

Guns N' Roses — Appetite for Destruction

I'm still a huge, huge fan of Appetite For Destruction. It's probably one of the best records of all-time in my opinion.

I still listen to Slipknot's first album and Iowa religiously. They were one of the bands that got me into extreme music to begin with. I just re-discovered their first album though recently and have been listening to them a ton.
