Outkast founder and solo artist of solid repute, Big Boi has just shared exciting news with his eclectic fan base — namely that a new, third full length studio album is "Coming Soon!"
Teased by a video clip the follow-up to 2012's Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, the new album is called Boomiverse. The rapper has also promised two new tracks, to be released on Friday — 4/20. One of the new tracks features Adam Levine from Maroon 5, and the other calls on the services of Jeezy and Killer Mike. The Levine-featured track is called "Mic Jack" and is slated for a premiere on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show tomorrow at 12.30pm ET.
The track featuring Jeezy and Killer Mike, it's called "Kill Jill" and it will be available tonight. This is not the first time that Big Boi has collaborated with Killer Mike — they have a long and historied body of work together. Most recently you would have been able to see them as rapping foxes on HBO's animated comedy "Animals".
In recent months there have been rumors and wishful-thinking from many quarters of the hip hop community — all hoping that there would be a reunion of Big Boi and Andre 3000, and that Outkast would be committing something to record for the fans. Whilst there's no news of any such action, at least this new release offers fresh cuts from one of Atlanta's finest.
