They said it would never, ever happen, but it is! The "Big Four" of Thrash Metal - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – are touring together in Europe this summer and will be bringing shows to the global stage, thanks to the fact that they are broadcasting the June 22 show via satellite to movie theaters around the world in HD. This particular show is the Sonisphere Festival, held in in Sofia, Bulgaria, and the much anticipated performance will air the same day in over 450 theaters in more than 140 markets in the U.S., as well as Europe, Canada and Latin America. Delayed screenings are also scheduled for countries like Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
For ticket info and showing locations, visit www.thebigfourlive.com. You can also view the trailer for the event there, too. You'll feel like you are in Europe, banging your head.
Also, Slayer guitarist Kerry King – he of the very intimidating stature, head tattoos and masterful riffs- told AOL's Noisecreep blog last week that he'd love to see the tour come to America, which American metal fans are praying to Satan for. Read more here.
Would you spend cash to go to Europe to see this once-in-a-lifetime show, since there is no definite promise that it will play the US?
