Björk New Single 'The Gate' Available to Stream September 18

Björk, Iceland's most whimsical nymph, announced her new single "The Gate" via Twitter early Tuesday morning, her first release since 2015's Vulnicura. In classic Björk style, she's barely recognizable in an expansive, fractalized dress on the single's cover.
Björk's musings suggest she's moving past the pain that inspired her previous album: "the gate is essentially a love song, but i say 'love' in a more transcendent way. vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and i think this new album is about a love that's even greater. it's about rediscovering love — but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word."
Björk last week hinted at an upcoming, as-yet still nameless new album. The post provided fans with little more than a handwritten note and a pre-order link, where "new bjork album in vinyl format" accompanies the £23.99 price.
'The Gate' will be available for digital streaming September 18th. True fans can pre-order a limited pressing single sided 12" vinyl from One Little Indian Records for £8.99, which will ship September 22nd. The mysterious full album is still available for pre-order as well, though we now feel moderately safe predicting at least one song it might feature.
In 2015, Vulnicura received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. In 2016 she unveiled Björk Digital, a VR platform allowing fans to experience Vulnicura's music videos in the novel medium. In Tokyo, on June 29th of 2016, Bjork streamed the world's first VR live set to YouTube.
