Bjork, TLC, & Mac DeMarco In Top Music Videos Of The Week - June 9

The art of the music video is often forgotten about today, but there are still a few artists who are able to deliver every time they decide to go in front of the camera. This week a number of musicians impressed us with their visual, as well as audio, minds, and they came from across the music world, both young and old.
It's little surprise that Björk ended up on our list, as just about everything she touches turns to gold, and her new video for "Notget" continues to prove that point. TLC meanwhile returned to the screen and brought along another artist that never slips too far from the edges of our mind. And indie darling Mac DeMarco showed us that we all don't need to be too afraid of death.
Here are our favorite videos of the week:
Björk — "Notget"
Björk has been one of the most stunning visual artists on the planet for decades now. Her sense of sound, color, movement, and transformation have always flowed from within, and even the most unnatural changes come without anyone questioning. She has already released a number of clips for songs from her most recent record, Vulnicura, but most were focused on virtual reality, including the first video for "Notget". This time around she stepped away from VR to focus on metamorphosis. The result is a thing of beauty and another classic in the Icelandic musician's impressive catalog.
TLC — "Way Back" [ft. Snoop Dogg]
It has been 15 years since TLC has released an album. Back then the the group sat atop the music world and was nominated for two GRAMMYs. Now the band is set to release a new self-titled record at the end of month, and the biggest question on everyone's minds is what might have changed. Looking at the video for "Way Back", it seems like not too much. T-Boz and Chilli are back kicking it a house party, there are low riders, and Snoop Dogg is there. It's a call back to all the things that made summer good and easily identifiable two decades back, and it's just as good now as it was then.
Diet Cig — "Barf Day"
Back in April, Diet Cig released their debut full-length album, Swear I'm Good At This. It was full of all that DIY punk spirit that so many champion, but so few actually poses. There is little doubt that Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman possess those intangible outsider quarks necessary to create well in that scene. "Barf Day" is a piece of pop punk bliss that remind us that sometimes birthdays just suck. Nonetheless, the duo make the best of the situation with Luciano stealing and ice cream truck. Is there anything more summer than crappy birthdays and ice cream?
Mac DeMarco — "One Another"
Mac DeMarco released his third full-length album, This Old Dog, just over a month ago, and to no one's surprise, it was an immediately critical darling. DeMarco is the kind of craft focused musician who lets things just fall in place, but doesn't get too worked up about seemingly anything. Take his music video for "One Another" as an example. He spends his time just kicking it with the grim reaper, who becomes a good friend. It's funny, chill time, and exactly what we would expect.
A$AP Mob — "Wrong"
Both A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg have made names for themselves in the rap game, but when they come together it's always means something special. Last year, the duo released their first studio album, Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends, and their new track "Wrong" is rumored to be on its follow up. The music video is set in an old church where the New York rappers discuss their philandering ways surrounded by a variety of women dressed in white. They seem to feel bad about their past actions, but will they change? Only time will tell. But if there is any clue, maybe it's on Rocky's shirt that features Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie quote: "We should all be feminists."
