The Cities of London and Westminster Constituency Labour Party have selected Dave Rowntree as its Parliament candidate for the UK's next general election. The Blur drummer will be running against incumbent/Conservative party member Mark Field.

Rowntree has been a vocal Labour campaigner for years. He last ran for office in April of 2007, when he lost the Westminster City County election in the Conservative Marylebone High Street ward.
