Denied! The Chinese Ministry of Culture has prevented iconic singer Bob Dylan the right to perform his first-ever concerts in China. The completely subjective reason? His past actions as a counter-cultural figure! While those are the reasons Dylan is celebrated and adored in his native America, it is apparently to his discredit in Asia. Denied. Ground to a half. Stopped!

Dylan recently completely 14 dates in Japan, with a stop in Seoul, South Korea, in March. The singer was hoping to continue touring Asia and to stop in Beijing and Shanghai along the way, but those plans were stopped dead in their tracks, since Dylan didn't receive permission to perform in China. As a result, he also cancelled his plans to perform in Taiwan and in Hong Kong. Sucks for the peeps in those regions who were hoping to see Dylan perform.

Do you think that China's Ministry of Culture is being too hard on Dylan? Does it make you think twice about freedom of speech and artistic expression?
