Bon Iver's Justin Vernon Designs Animal-Friendly Shoe

Bon Iver's Justin Vernon can add "shoe designer" to his resume, right next to Grammy Award winner! Vernon helped to design a sneaker for Keep, a L.A.-based, cruelty-free footwear brand. How effing cool is that?
Vernon created a "salmon" pink canvas shoe, which features "herringbone accents" and "a black fishbone detail across the toe," so says NME.com.
The project is raising awareness for Best Friends Animal Society, which is "an animal advocacy group which operates the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. Both Vernon and Una Kim, Keep's founder, are proud adopters of rescued pets, pictures of whom often make appearances on both the band and Keep's blogs."
We support adopting pets. So do Higgins, Laney and Toby, the ARTISTdirect canine mascot crew.
The sneaker will be released in limited form globally in October.
Are you into cruelty-free fashion? Why would ANYONE ever wear fur? Makes no sense to us.
