Bon Iver Turned Down Grammy Performance

Bon Iver are up for a total of four Grammys this year but the band elected not to perform at the Feb. 12 broadcast based on principle. They were asked and they said "no thanks!" Wow! Why?
Frontman Justin Vernon told Billboard.com his band was asked to play the show as part of a performance with another artist. That last part there was what they objected to.
"We wanted to play our music, but were told that we couldn't play. We had to do a collaboration with someone else," said Vernon. "And we just felt like it was such a large stage -- we're getting nominated for this record that we made. Me and Brian [Joseph] and a bunch of our friends and we were given accolades for it, and all of a sudden we were being asked to play music that had nothing to do with that."
What do you think of Bon Iver's reason for their decision to nix playing the Grammys? Are you with them? Did they make the right choice? We agree with them and their principles.
