Britney Spears is refusing to apologize to officials for featuring guns in her video for her new single "Criminal." Brit Brit came under fire last week after she was photographed holding a pistol and knocking over a convenience mart in the video, alongside her boyfriend Jason Trawick. Brit filmed the pistol packing clip in East London. The vid has a modern day Bonnie and Clyde theme, which upset locals since the clip was filmed near where the riots broke out earlier this summer.

Local politicians on Hackney Council were outraged by the controversial video and demanded an apology and a donation, but Brit is not going to do so.

A statement from Spears' management to MTV News read as follows: "The video is a fantasy story featuring Britney's boyfriend, Jason Trawick, which literally plays out the lyrics of a song written three years before the riots ever happened." They have a point there, but so does the council.

Do you think Brit should apologize or is she expressing her artistic and creative freedom by moving right along?
