Actress joins Stallone mercenary flick; to play musical role
Brittany Murphy Proves Expendable
Brittany Murphy has joined the all-star cast of The Expendables, a mercenary drama written, directed by, and starring Sylvester Stallone. Murphy is part of a strong cast that also includes Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, and Dolph Lundgren as a team of warriors on a mission to overthrow a dictator.David Zayas of Dexter fame has been cast to play the dictator. Murphy will play the girlfriend of Rourke's character, who is also a singer. The role requires Murphy to perform musical numbers.
