Broadcast's Trish Keenan Dies of Pneumonia - She passed on Friday, Jan 14.

Trish Keenan, vocalist of English electronic group Broadcast, passed away on Friday morning. Keenan died due to complications of pneumonia. The singer had battled the illness in intensive care for the past two weeks. She was 42.

Broadcast's label, Warp Records, released the following statement: "This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace."

After forming in 1995 with an original line-up of Keenan, guitarist Tim Felton, bassist James Cargill and keyboardist Roj Stevens, Broadcast released four albums and some EPs on Warp Records.  Rumors of Keenan's illness began to surface earlier this week, after a Facebook user claiming to be the singer's sister posted on the band's Facebook page that Keenan was "fighting for her life." Reports say she contracted the swine flu virus (H1N1) while in Australia.

What a tragic loss. She will be missed.
