With "Wherever I Go," Buckcherry unleash a monstrous anthem that's both pensive and pummeling.
The track is an especially explosive salvo from the official soundtrack for The Avengers, Avengers Assemble, and it showcases the band on fire. Thick riffing from guitar maestros Keith Nelson and Stevie D ignites the song and then sails right into a bluesy verse.
Frontman Josh Todd sounds utterly pristine crooning out a lonely tale becoming of the film's narrative. The singer's voice proves all-encompassing as he lifts an infectious refrain to the heavens. Jimmy Ashurst's bass roars along with the distinct bombast of Xavier Muriel's drumming.
Just wait until the guitar solo though. It's a scorching lead that's bound to burn up speakers. "Wherever I Go" illuminates another facet of Buckcherry. It's got the swagger of the band's classic material, but there's also an evolution that arises from Todd's vivid storytelling and potent delivery. In other words, it's one hell of a rock song…
Beyond being part of the soundtrack, "Wherever I Go" is simply a prelude to the band's forthcoming Confessions, which promises to take everything to the next level altogether. Get ready for one of the best rock albums of the year…
