Forbes released its annual list of the highest paid DJs in the world yesterday, and surprise, surprise Adam Richard Wiles, aka Calvin Harris, is at the top once again. Making $48.5 million between June 2016 and June 2017, this is the fifth consecutive year that the Scottish DJ is on the top of the list.
Making matters more interesting, this year’s list doesn’t even account for the money Harris made from his most recent album, Funky Wav Bounce Vol. 1, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. The record wasn’t released until June 30th of this year, making its total sales go into next year’s calculation, where it seems likely he will top the chart again.
Tiesto continued his time near the top of the list, placing second this year with $39 million, thanks to his busy live schedule that saw him play 134 shows. Tiesto has been in the top three of the Electronic Cash Kings ranking since they were first released.
The Chainsmokers made their first appearance on the chart, reaching all the way up to number three by pulling in $38 million. Also debuting on this year’s list was Marshmello, who came in at number eight with $21 million.
Elsewhere on the list, Skrillex came in with $30 million to finish number four. Steve Aoki racked up $29.5 million on his way to fifth, and Diplo raked in 28.5 million, coming in at number six. Check out the top ten below.
