Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise May Reunite For Fox Comedy

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise, who starred together in the bleak drama Vanilla Sky, may be reteaming for a currently untitled romantic comedy for 20th Century Fox. The film was previously titled Wichita and Trouble Man but both of those possible titles have been ditched for the time being.

The script is currently in the rewrite phase, with James Mangold, who lensed 3:10 to Yuma, attached to direct. The plot centers on a woman who has awful luck with men but finds herself linked to a mysterious man she meets on a blind date.

Eva Mendes and Chris Tucker were originally attached to star in an earlier incarnation, but those plans also fell through. Neither Diaz nor Cruise are officially attached to this project yet, but the film is still being developed as a starring vehicle for them.
