Cassadee Pope deserves to be the next big thing.
Her performance of Faith Hill's "Cry" on The Voice rightfully sealed her status as the third season winner. Pope gives every inch of herself on the song, delivering the words with the palpable power of a superstar. She's got an ere of elegance as she performs too—which proves completely welcome amidst today's modern pop climate. Pope can pull of the country fare, but she does it with a crossover appeal at the same time that transcends genres and enters a timeless realm. The track remains staggeringly beautiful, matching her presence in every way. You can get it on iTunes now [here].
Then, there's her immense performance on Miranda Lambert's "Over You". It turned a whole lot of heads when she did it on the show, but listening to it again, Pope's voice really shines through with a cadence and panache of her own. Both tracks illuminate just how tremendous of a talent she truly is. You can get it on iTunes now [here].
Ultimately, she won because she's not only got staggering vocal ability and stage presence, but she emanates class and the heart of a timeless performer.
