Yusuf Islam, better known as Cat Stevens, has revealed his thoughts on a Coldplay track (“Viva La Vida”) that sounds remarkably like his 1973 song, “Foreigner Suite.”

“My son brought it to my attention,” Islam said in a recent telephone interview with Reuters. “The song definitely sounds like [‘Foreigner Suite’]. It has such logical chords and the melody has to be what it is.”

When asked if he would actually sue the band, the singer said, “It depends on how well Satriani does.” And by Satriani he means, Joe Satriani, who filed a copyright infringement suit against Coldplay last year…over the same song. As for what Islam’s been up to lately, his new album, Roadslinger, came out today.
