Are you ready for some football? A Thursday night party?
The NFL confirmed that lady killer Cee Lo Green will sing this year's Thursday Night Football theme song. Each Thursday night game will open with a 90-second fan-sourced video uploaded by fans performing Cee Lo's new song, "I Love Football," set to the tune of The Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop." That's interesting, right?
"It's finally that time again… and I really love my football," Cee Lo said in a statement. "The NFL always brings us the biggest and brightest entertainment spectacle in sports and now with 'Fanthem,' NFL Network gives loyal fans the chance to participate!"
Cee Lo and the gridiron? This, we likey! After last year's drama when the NFL dropped Monday Night Football theme song singer Hank Williams, Jr. after he made some seriously asinine comments about President Obama, this scenario and this singer are likely a dream!
The song will debut with Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers fans singing the Ramones' chorus along with Cee Lo on Sept. 13.
