iVillage, the largest content-driven online community for women, has a new celeb blogger and her name is Katherine Heigl. Previous celeb bloggers include Denise Richards, Alanis Morissette and Ricki Lake. Heigl is blogging for the site's Celeb Village, in which Hollywood women share their insight, achievements and personal struggles with readers across the web. Each blogger composes a total of four posts for the site, which are published throughout the course of one month.

The Hollywood Reporter got the scoop. "Katherine has a really relatable life, even though she's a Hollywood actress," Serena Kappes, editorial director of entertainment at iVillage, said. "She's a mom and she's struggling with the things that a lot of women struggle with, which is balancing family and career."

In her first blog she writes about that challenge and the guilt that she feels," Kappes continued. "I think it really resonates with the iVillage community of women that it's not just everyday women who go through this, it's celebrities too who seem like they have it all, but they also have their own personal struggles."

Heigl admitted in her Jan. 2012 ELLE cover story that she is not Hollywood's sweetheart, due to the comments she made about Knocked Up, the smash comedy that made her a big screen star after years of success on the boob tube with Grey's Anatomy, being a sexist film and the time she took herself out of Emmy contention because she felt she was not given strong material to work with and did not warrant a nomination. Her comments came out harsh, and people just didn't seem to "like" Heigl. She had that "bitchy" attitude. Hopefully, this blogging expedition will help her connect more with "real" women and they'll warm up to her a little more. Perhaps that's the whole reason she is engaging in blogging. Read it and give her a chance.

Are you going to bookmark iVillage for Katie H's blogs? Did you read the debut blog by the actress?
