CartChad Kroeger Reveals Why He Was Embarrassed to Tell His Parents He Is Engaged to Avril Lavigne

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has admitted he was "embarrassed" when he told his parents that he was marrying Avril Lavigne. Not because of their age difference, mind you, but because his Ma Kroeger is a big fan of Av's music. Adorkable! And we did mean that with a "k."
Interestingly enough, Lavigne has not yet met the Kroeg's parents, since they engaged in a whirlwind, nine-month romance after meeting in the studio, and that has now culminated in an engagement that shocked the music world and the media.
Kroeger reportedly said, ''You never know what your parents are going to say when you tell them you're getting married - especially when it's with someone they haven't met yet. My mom is a huge fan of Avril's, so putting her on speakerphone and telling her the news was hilarious and equally embarrassing...I find [going back home] almost as terrifying as telling your parents you're going to tie the knot. You just never know when someone is going to come out of the woodwork with a story that's starts with, 'Let me tell you about the time...'"
What a cute little story, regardless of your opine on the Chavril union.
