Chaka Khan Honored With "Chaka Khan Day" in Native Chicago

Every day should be Chaka Khan Day, but sadly, it'll be relegated to one day --July 28-- for the soul singer.
Khan is being honored with her own day in her native Chicago. To celebrate, she will take the stage to perform a free outdoor concert in Millennium Park.
Local city officials and Mayor Rahm Emanuel will also unveil a street sign in her name near her former high school.
Needless to say, she is STOKED.
"Chicago is where it all began for me," the diva said. "Even before (joining the band) Rufus, I sang with local groups such as The Babysitters, Lock and Chain and Lyfe. As a young girl, growing up on Carpenter Street, my parents introduced me to a very rich musical foundation – starting with jazz and opera. I owe this city so much, and I'm deeply honored by this tribute. Chicago will always be a part of me, and with this street naming, I now will always be a part of it. It's a blessing to me and my family. We are profoundly grateful to all the people of Chicago."
Amen to that!
What artist should have a day named after them in their home town?
