Chance the Rapper and Frank Ocean attended last night's Italy State Dinner at the White House. In a classy move, Chance brought along his pops, while Frank was accompanied by his mom. The dinner honored the country of Italy and the honored guests were His Excellency Matteo Renzi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy and Mrs. Agnese Landini.
Chance's father, Ken Bennett, served as a deputy assistant to Obama back when he was a Senator in Illinois. And earlier this year, the rapper made an appearance at the White House to discuss criminal justice reform. He also tweeted thanks to his father, saying, "Thanks Dad for raising me right. Look at us all fancy for the White House. I ain't even wearing a hat tonight #BlackBoyJoy". Check out pictures below.
"Other guests include Jerry Seinfeld, James Taylor, Gwen Stefani, Mario Batali, Roberto Benigni, and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo," reports Pitchfork. This was the last state dinner of Barack Obama's presidency.
In other news Frank Ocean news, it was reported yesterday that neither of Ocean's albums, Blonde and Endless, will be up for GRAMMYs this year. Initially, it seemed uncertain whether it was an oversight or an intentional move, but, apparently "a source close to the situation tells Billboard that Ocean's team was aware of the deadlines and made the decision."
