Channing Tatum is re-teaming with author/screenwriter/director Dito Montiel for The Brotherhood of the Rose. Tatum will star in the film, which Montiel will write and direct for Warner Bros. It's an adaptation of a David Morrell novel. Tatum and Montiel worked together previously on the little-seen but critically-applauded coming-of-age film, 2006's A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, which was based on Montiel's real life experiences growing up in New York City.
The Brotherhood of the Rose plot centers on two orphans reared by a CIA operative, who turns them into assassins. The tables are eventually turned and the pair become targets, in a hunter-becomes-the-hunted scenario. The book was initially adapted as a two-part miniseries on NBC that featured the late Robert Mitchum.
