Cher, Johnny Knoxville Dropping Out

The unlikely team of Cher and Johnny Knoxville will star in The Drop-Out, a slacker-themed comedy that will be directed by Ricky Blitt. Blitt also wrote the screenplay and has worked with Knoxville previously, as the screenwriter of The Ringer, a politically incorrect 2005 comedy in which Knoxville starred.
The film will follow Knoxville's character, a 35-year-old college student who has yet to graduate and failed to launch professionally. He is booted out of his parents' house and subsequently moves in with his 62-year-old neighbor, played by Oscar winner Cher. He will couch surf and hang out with her son, who is his age and also seeking a father figure. The role of Cher's son has yet to be cast but producers are aggressively seeking an actor for the part.
