Cher Lloyd is empowering her fans (aka her beloved Brats) by allowing them to premiere music from her new album, Sorry I'm Late, out May 27 on Epic Records.
Lloyd has made the unprecedented decision to put the music in their hands first. This edgy move marks the first time in history that an artist has engaged her fanbase to showcase new music before anybody else.
Okay, so how does it work? We're glad you asked. We'll tell ya!
In conjunction with MTV Artists, MTV's artist and music discovery site and app, one lucky fan as chosen by the singer, will get the opportunity to unveil a new song and unlock a piece of Lloyd's album artwork via his/her social networks.
Shortly after the particular track goes live on MTV.com, fans may submit their own videos for it as part of a week-long contest. The winning video will then be showcased on her official MTV Artists page.
In addition, each winner will be awarded the opportunity to attend an exclusive Cher Lloyd, live from MTV, livestream fan event in New York on album release day.
Fans who pre-order the album on March 17 will get an immediate download of "Sirens," Lloyd's new single.
"What I love most about my fans is that they aren't afraid to be vocal when they want new music from me, so I thought why not let them be the ones to release it," says Lloyd.
Cher made you wait, and she is sorry. But she is sooooo worth it!
