Chris Brown, last seen in news headlines after roughing up ex-girlfriend Rihanna, will enjoy a new sort of headline, when he hosts the "Virginia Stand Up! A Call to Action" benefit show in Richmond, Virginia, which will be held on May 15. The benefit concert is being held for Haitian relief as well as the star's home state. Brown's performance will close the show and it is said he will be performing tracks from Grafitti, his latest offering, as well as hits from his other albums. Other performers at the benefit include T-Pain, Keri Hilson and Trey Songz.
In a statement, Brown said, "I wanted to find a way to contribute personally to the ongoing Haitian relief effort and also support an organization that helps people in need in my home state. The images I see on television, both in my community and in Haiti, remind me that everyone has to do their part."
The benefit will be held at the Siegel Center, located at the Virginia Commonwealth University. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the American Red Cross, Greater Richmond Chapter, to support their relief efforts in Haiti, and The Central Virginia Food Bank, a FeedMore organization which fights hunger in the region by providing food and grocery products to partner agencies. Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items which can be dropped off in receptacles on site.
Do you think Chris Brown can fully recovered from the beatin' and bitin' Rihanna episode from last winter?
