CineChart: Sam Maccarone of 'The Life of Lucky Cucumber'

Actor, director, and writer Sam Maccarone has a knack for films that appeal to the comedic sensibilities of the “guy’s guy.” This isn’t to exclude ladies, of course, but his movie catalogue does have a certain degree of, well, dude appeal. His latest effort, The Life of Lucky Cucumber, out on DVD on March 17th, is about the ultimate Average Joe, a “human oddity” who’s said to be the luckiest guy on Earth. To mark the DVD release, we asked Maccarone to provide us with a list of his Top Ten “Movies For Guys Who Like Movies,” to quote a certain former television program. Here are his picks.

    1. The Blues Brothers

    2. The Pink Panther (any one with Peter Sellers)

    3. Smokey and the Bandit

    4. Cheech and Chong (any of them)

    5. Pineapple Express

    6. Bad Santa

    7. Kentucky Fried Movie

    8. Bachelor Party

    9. Caddyshack

    10. Tropic Thunder
