Clothing Company Patagonia Partners With Artists to Raise Funds For Environment

The apparel company Patagonia is working with a bunch of bands to helped raise some funds for environmental organizations endorsed by artists. Billboard reports that Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, Bonnie Raitt and Maroon 5 are among the artists participating in the initiative. Learn more here.
The Patagonia Music Collective will offer exclusive tracks for $.99 each, with net proceeds going directly to the environmental organizations of the artists' preference. The Patagonia Music Collective is launching with two volumes of 11 tracks each.
One new benefit track and three emerging tracks will be released weekly. In addition, physical compilation albums will be sold at Patagonia stores.
Patagonia is adamant that the Music Collective is not a record label nor is it a downloads-for-charity campaign. Their goal is to foster an artistic and political exchange.
