Cody Simpson Explains How Beyoncé Inspired "Surfboard"

Aussie heartthrob Cody Simpson talks about his latest single "Surfboard" and how it was partially inspired by Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love," in which she sings about a "surfboard" in her cute and awesome Queen Bey diction.
"I've been surfing my whole life. It's just been part of my music ever since I can remember. Beyoncé came out with 'Drunk in Love' and really made that term a part of pop culture. She definitely kind of cemented the sexual innuendo into the term," Simpson said about the connection.
He also spoke about his recent elimination from Dancing With the Stars, even though the judges LURVED him and he was fun to watch on the show.
"I have mixed feelings about it," the singer admitted. "It's always kind of disappointing when you lose the opportunity to still be on a show like that. I never would have had the ability to tango or waltz on TV. It's amazing—if I come out of this a better entertainer, learn more about dancing itself, it's great."
