Cody Simpson invites fans across the country to participate in national "Stuffed with Hugs" weekend and make over 25,000 stuffed animals for free to donate to underprivileged children this holiday season, as the need for gifts are greater than ever.

Simpson joins U.S. Marine families and Lt.Gen. Pete Osman, chief executive officer, Marine Corps Toys for Tots® Foundation.

He is doing so to help make holiday wishes come true for less fortunate children by stuffing free furry friends with extra hugs and love to donate to the annual Toys for Toys toy drive. The event kicks off the national "Stuffed with Hugs™" weekend, taking place across the country October 20 and 21. During this weekend, more than 25,000 furry friends will be made and donated to less fortunate children through local U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots programs. Build-A-Bear Workshop® is inviting the first 100 Guests in all of its U.S. stores to help make the stuffed animals for free to give to children in need of an extra teddy bear hug this holiday season.

According to Lt.Gen. Osman, the need to brighten a child's holiday is greater than ever this year. New U.S. Census Bureau statistics reveal that more than one in five children under 18 years old (or 16.1 million children) live in poverty.

    Details below:

    When: Friday, October 19, 2012: 10:30 a.m. – Noon
