First, the royal wedding and now the Olympics. 2011 and 2012 will be bustling years in London!
British rock bands Coldplay and Muse, and as well as Damon Albarn of Gorillaz and Blur fame, have been approached to write the official anthem for the 2012 Olympics in London.
The Daily Mirror reports that Coldplay singer (and Gwyneth Paltrow baby daddy) Chris Martin is the top choice to write the song and organizers are looking for "something inspirational" for the event. I wonder how Radiohead's Thom Yorke feels about Martin being the first choice! Something tells me he doesn't give a rat's ass!
"Chris is at the top of the list to front the official record. We're pulling out all the stops to get Chris, ideally with the rest of Coldplay involved too," a source told the newspaper.
It's not a sausage party, either. Soul sister Joss Stone has also been approached to take part in the opening ceremony.
Who do you think should write the official anthem for the Olympics in London next year? Russell Brand? Chris Martin? Thom Yorke? Paul McCartney?
