Comeback of the Year: G-Unit

G-Unit unleashed their most fierce collection yet with 2014's The Beauty of Independence.
Seriously, nobody else is capturing this much fire and energy across hip-hop, and it's the most impactful statement yet from 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, and Kidd Kidd. That's saying a lot given the group's lineage and track record over the years since first emerging. That intensity from Beg for Mercy stands intact here as these gentlemen spit a tornado of emotion ranging from the declaratory anthem "Watch Me" to the soulfully pensive "The Plug". You'll get swept up in it. This is literally banger after banger worth hitting "repeat" again and again for.
Most groups don't nail this the first time around. G-Unit have literally done it twice now, re-emerging as one of hip-hop's most important collectives in 2014. The Beauty of Independence shines light on a bright and (independent) future. Once again, G-Unit's in the house, and all is well...
