CONVERSE Inc. announced it will bring the Converse Rubber Tracks experience, based in Brooklyn, to Toronto, Canada from June 12-16 during North by Northeast (NXNE), Canada's most anticipated summer music event. For the first time outside of the U.S., Converse will provide local Canadian artists the opportunity to record at its "Converse Rubber Tracks in Toronto" pop-up studio at no cost and also present several music and skate events as part of "City Carnage: Toronto," a three-day free event celebrating music and skateboarding.

"We're extremely excited to bring Converse Rubber Tracks' unique studio experience to Canada for the first time," said Geoff Cottrill, Converse Chief Marketing Officer. "One of our goals as a brand is to give back and help inspire a new generation of musicians. Converse Rubber Tracks in Toronto is a way for us to say thank you to Canadian musicians who have helped us become the brand we are today and to rally behind NXNE's incredible music scene."

Since the studio opened in Brooklyn in July 2011, Converse Rubber Tracks has provided emerging musicians the opportunity to record in a state-of-the art studio at no cost. Converse created the studio as a means to support and facilitate an artist's self-expression. Musicians are offered the opportunity to register online, and if selected, record at Converse Rubber Tracks and in the end retain all the rights to their music. Musicians are invited to visit http://www.converse.com/rubbertracks for more information about Converse Rubber Tracks studio and instructions on the registration process to apply for either Toronto, Canada or Brooklyn, NY.

For this year's NXNE, Converse invites Toronto-based musicians to apply for an opportunity to record at "Converse Rubber Tracks in Toronto" located at Toronto's own Mushroom Studios. If accepted, musicians of all ages and genres will be able to reserve one of five days (June 12-16) with Converse Rubber Tracks at Mushroom Studios to record original music alongside experienced engineers at no cost. At the end of the recording process, the artists will retain all rights to their work. The studio will also be a destination for exclusive performances and band interviews that will be posted on the Converse Facebook page. For further information on the registration process to apply for studio time, visit here.

City Carnage: Toronto On June 14-16, Converse "City Carnage: Toronto" takes over The Wrongbar as part of NXNE for three nights of music showcases, highlighting emerging artists, as well as artists who have already recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn, NY. The official NXNE festival showcases will feature artists such as Purity Ring, Killer Mike, Rival Schools, The Men, as well as Converse Rubber Tracks recording artists First You Get The Sugar. On June 16, Converse will co-partner to host a free, all ages skate day party at The Bait Shop. Set to appear and skate are Converse Skateboarding Ambassadors Nick Trapasso, Kenny Anderson and Tom Remillard.

Are you attending NxNE? Do you wear Converse? We do and would love a free pair. Hint hint.
