Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour Remembers First Time Seeing Slayer

There's nothing quite like Slipknot and Slayer touring together.
It's happened a couple of times, and it's always been a legendary occasion. They shared the OZZfest 1999 bill with Slipknot on the second stage and Slayer on the main stage. Then, they tore up the states alongside each other on 2000's Tattoo the Earth. After that, they were once again annihilating audiences on OZZfest 2004 and on off-dates. Now, they're deep into the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival—doing what they do best, bringing aural destruction to the world.
Both bands completely and utterly decimate audiences and put on a show that's impossible to forget.
Slipknot and Stone Sour mainman certainly didn't forget the first time he saw the band.
"It had to be 1991," he recalls with a smile. "I believe it was the Decade of Aggression tour. It was before I saw them on Clash of the Titans. I can't remember who opened, but it didn't matter at that point. You were there to see Slayer, and that's what it was all about it. They damn near ripped my head off. It was probably the most brutal pit I'd ever been in my entire life."
