When celebs walk red carpets dripping with jewels and diamonds, they baubles and accessories are often borrowed items, lent to them by jewelers looking for press and publicity, and exposure. The celebs then return the items, post-event. Such was not the case with Courtney Love, who always "courts" controversy!

Love has been ordered to pay $100,000 to Jacob & Co. for failing to return borrowed jewels. She says she was asked by hotel staff to return the items, which she wore to a charity event but the company says they did not receive the items and they are lost.

Who the hell would ask hotel staffers to return expensive, borrowed jewels? Uh, we think Court should cough up the cash.
