Two of today's hardest rocking acts, Craig Finn of The Hold Steady and Titus Andronicus have announced a shared 2016 tour. Both are promoting new work; Finn released his solo album Faith in the Future, in September, and Titus Andronicus, lovingly referred to here as +@, dropped its ambitious triple LP rock opera The Most Lamentable Tragedy, in July. Both acts are signed to Merge Records.

It's arguable which frontman has the better rock snarl; Finn or +@'s Patrick Stickles, but both have the same ability to channel the grit and gravel of the heartland through world weary lyrics that dip into violence, depression, drug use, and troubled emotions.

Finn, who will open for +@, said this about the upcoming run: "The best show I saw in 2015 was +@ at Shea Stadium (a Brooklyn club), and I was also lucky enough to be invited on stage that evening. I very much look forward to being able to be playing alongside this amazing and important band for all these shows."

Stickles reciprocated the feeling. "I will be grateful for the opportunity to observe the verbal dexterity of Craig, night after night, so that I might learn some valuable lessons from one of rock's great communicators."

With +@, Stickels also just released a remix of the TMLT single "Fired Up," dubbed "an all-new, Grandma-friendly 'remix'...stripped of all potentially offensive sounds such as drums and electric guitars." Take a listen at Soundcloud or below, and check out the early 2016 tour dates as well.
