Lest there was any doubt that Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" is the anthem of 2006, fans at Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival got treated to three different versions of the song this weekend. In additional to Gnarls themselves, Chicago native Kanye West snuck the song into his headlining set, and indie rock supergroup The Raconteurs, fronted by Jack White and Brendan Benson, beat everyone to the punch by delivering their own version of the song during a Friday night set.

Apparently word of the tribute got back to Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse; they returned the favor by performing a cover of "There Is An End" by The Greenhornes, which shares the same rhythm section with the Raconteurs.

Other highlights of the three-day festival, which included appearances by over 130 acts, were big-time headlining performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Death Cab for Cutie. Early buzz suggests that the festival's other big highlights included veteran Latin alterna-rocker Manu Chao, Midwest favorites Wilco, who thrilled fans by debuting four new songs, and female post-punkers Sleater-Kinney, making their final scheduled appearance before an announced "indefinite hiatus."
