Mysterious new pop act Cults materialized on the Internet early last year but, similar to the existence of cultists, they were untraceable. Yet to those that had experienced their offerings, they were undeniable. The band, who assumed the identities of Brian Oblivion and Madeline Follin, released only three tracks: "Go Outside," "Most Wanted," "The Curse" and then a fourth this summer, titled "Oh My God." The songs began to spread rapidly amongst their engaged followers who appreciated these jangly, heavenly, ethereal pop ditties. Then in late 2010, the band signed with In The Name Of/Columbia Records. The label will release the band's full-length debut in May 2011. So the Cults will be coming into the view of the mainstream.

2011 will be a busy year for Cults, who will head out on their first headlining tour this April. In March the band will do a handful of dates with Small Black and Asobi Seksu in and out of SXSW.

Cults are in the studio now finishing their full-length with Shane Stoneback (Sleigh Bells, Vampire Weekend.) To hear music from the band, go here and enjoy yourself.
