Cyndi Lauper to Be Honored for LGBT Work

Cyndi Lauper is a LGBT crusader and the "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" singer will be honored for her efforts supporting the young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.
Lauper co-founded the True Colors Fund, which endeavors to involve the straight community in the advancement of LGBT equality.
Lauper will join members of the government's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to celebrate the annual National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day on May 9 in Washington, D.C.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will present Lauper with the honor, thanking her for her tireless efforts.
