CartD'Angelo to Play Essence Music Festival in July

If there is one thing we know about R&B singer D'Angelo, he likes to take his time. His sophomore album is 10 years in the making. And now, D'A will play his first U.S. show in a decade.
Billboard reports that D'Angelo is set to perform at this year's Essence Music Festival in New Orleans on July 6.
The fest is scheduled for July 6 through July 8, with Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, The Pointer Sisters, Trey Songz, Eve, Charlie Wilson, Keyshia Cole, SWV, Goapele, Estelle and more on the bill.
D'Angelo played Europe recently, but the US has not seen him since his debut album, which came out a decade ago. The follow up is almost done, according to reports. We'll believe it when we hear it.
