2016 was a banner year for Daft Punk, and they didn't even released an album. The pioneering French electronic duo scored their first ever number one hit with their The Weeknd collaboration, "Starboy", and now they are joining the ranks of Kanye West, Drake, and Frank Ocean with their very own pop-up shop.
From February 11th through 19th, 8818 Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles' West Hollywood neighborhood, will be turned into a Daft Punk dream. The robots have teamed up with a variety of designers, including Off-White, Darkdron, Herve Manufacturer and Enfants Riches Deprimes, to create "limited edition apparel and accessories" for the store. There will also be items available made by Daft Punk Official Merchandise specifically for this store, as well as a selection of material currently on sale at the duo's online store. According to a statement, their shop will also incorporate "a retrospective of archival set pieces, props, wardrobe, artwork, photography and robot helmets."
The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. through 5 p.m. on Sundays, from February 11th through 19th.
The shop opening coincides with Daft Punk's performance at this year's GRAMMY Awards, where they will be playing a song with The Weeknd from their collaboration Starboy. The GRAMMYs will air on Sunday, February 12th at 5 p.m. PT on CBS.
