Danny Brown is almost finished with his new album. The Detroit rapper posted on his Instagram, "Me and the bruh bruh @mixedbyali putting the final touches on my next masterpiece #Bruisers get ready Stanny Crown season is approaching." MixedbyAli is none other than "Top Dawg Entertainment recording and mixing engineer, to whom Kendrick Lamar famously says, "let it run, Ali," on "Backseat Freestyle,"" reports Pitchfork.
Danny Brown last released his third record, Old, back in 2013. Last week, he made an appearance along with MF Doom on the new Avalanches track "Frankie Sinatra." In 2015, Brown released "Worth It" with Clams Casino.
In January of 2015, Rolling Stone reported that Brown was working on "a Dr. Seuss-inspired children's book written for his 13-year-old daughter. "It's really about self-esteem in black girls," the rapper told radio station Triple J during his Australian tour. "You know how black women do so much – process their hair, change their eye color? It's really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself, and she realizes she's just better off the way she is.""
Danny Brown's tour has five upcoming dates scheduled. The first is set for July 5th in Montreal, Canada. After that, he will head to Los Angeles for a show on July 7th and then to Louisville, Kentucky for a set at FORECASTLE FEST on July 15th. His last currently scheduled show is set for September 2nd in Denver, Colorado.
