Wed, 19 Oct 2011 09:40:05
Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will play an acoustic show at New York City's United Palace Theater on Friday, Nov. 18. Proceeds from this concert will be donated to charities selected by ticket purchasers at davematthews.com/charity. On Saturday, Nov. 19, Matthews and Reynolds will perform at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT.
With the New York City show, Matthews and Reynolds are giving concertgoers an opportunity to support their favorite charities while enjoying an evening of live music. Fans will use the redemption code from their ticket to direct their ticket cost to any charity of their choice through the JustGive online donation platform. JustGive is a nonprofit organization with access to over 1.8 million charities, so the concertgoer has a wide range to choose from. Fans are encouraged to unite with neighbors and friends to support a mutual charity of interest, such as a local school, park or favorite community organization. The directed donations will be funded by the performing artists and a generous supporter.
Dave Matthews was the first musician to embrace this unique concept of enabling fans to drive charitable contributions of their choice through his concerts. He first introduced this idea at his December 2010 shows in Seattle and again at his August 2011 show in Charlottesville. Fans have elected to fund everything from local animal shelters and community theaters to schools and cancer research.
Dave is a philanthropist and uses his fame for good!
